This year, Dr. Ferrante has set a theme that perfectly captures the heart of South Salem: Learn. Love. Laugh. For our students, every day is a chance to grow, connect, and find joy in learning — and the HSA is here to support exactly that.

The Salem HSA is looking forward to a year filled with school spirit, fun events, and opportunities to connect with fellow families while supporting our students and teachers. Meet Your '26-'27 HSA Board 👋

We're so excited to kick off another great year with Salem families! Here's a look at some of the team leading the HSA this year:

Gabby Napolitano, Senior Co-President

Back as Senior Co-President, Gabby is looking forward to continuing the many ways the HSA helps make Salem the special place it is. Originally from New Hampshire, she's a corporate attorney by day and mom to three daughters: twin Salem graduates from the Class of '26 and a 4th grader. Gabby loves to travel (and loves shocking her daughters with the places she went before they were born) and is getting back into running after a long hiatus.

Kathryn Malhame, Junior Co-President

Kathryn joins the board as Junior Co-President after serving as VP of Class Parents from 2023 to 2025. A longtime member of the Salem and greater Port Washington community, she has two daughters at Weber (8th and 7th grade) and a 4th-grade daughter and Kindergarten son at Salem. When she isn't working full-time as a Nurse Practitioner at Northwell, she's with family and friends in Montauk, or squeezing in a workout or a good book. She's looking forward to another fantastic year at Salem, because it ROCKS!
